Not exactly but yes!: Fibroids are clonal tumors of the smooth muscle of the uterus. When they grow large they can cause various symptoms such as pressure, bleeding irregularities and even infertility. In most cases, however, they cause no symptoms. Occasionally they outgrow their blood supply, degenerate and cause pain as they die. "muscle pain" might be perceived with the contractions of the uterus during menses.
