Lips: Any pigmented or dark spot should be evaluated by a dermatologist to rule out skin cancer (melanoma for instance) . A dark spot could represent a simple freckle or an abnormal mole for example. At times a simple biopsy is recommended to remove the spot and allow for evaluation.
