I have lost taste and smell. occured suddenly 6 months ago. have had antibiotics, steroids and nasal spray with no effect. no cold, just blocked nose.

Nasal blockage: Significant nasal blockage would cause loss in taste and smell as would chronic sinusitis. Be sure that you aim the Beconase towards the lateral side of the nose and not the center. Consider a sinus ct scan to rule out chronic sinusitis or polyps. Not all nasal swelling respond to Beconase and the antibiotic might not be the right one or taken long enough. See ent. Any history of head trauma?
