No!: Head lice do not carry or transmit any disease. (body lice do transmit disease, but they are different.) you may get a secondary skin infection from scratching so much that the scalp gets raw.

Head lice: Head lice don't transmit other infectious diseases. Body lice can transmit diseases such as epidemic typhus, trench fever & relapsing fever.
