Why do people throw prescription drugs down the toilet?

Disposal: Although not a responsible behavior, some people get rid of the leftover drugs on a prescription or expired drugs by putting them in the toilet because it is so easy. Agencies request that they not be disposed of that way but be taken to collection centers or to pharmacies most of whom will take them. This takes extra effort however.
