Pain? xray!: Stress fractures can occur without major injury. Persistent foot pain can be as simple as a strain or as bad as a stress fracture. If conservative treatment does not work then strongly consider seeing a podiatrist, who is a trained expert in all problems foot related!

Xrays/MRI: Stress fractures can be diagnosed with x-rays. At times the fracture does not show up on an x-ray and an MRI is required to make the diagnosis. The best treatment is avoiding the activity which caused the fracture.
