A doctor has provided 1 answer

Inflammation of nerv: The optic nerve is the main cable carrying visual information from the eye to the brain. Optic neuritis is when this nerve gets inflamed and this usually lowers the vision in that eye. It frequently is spontaneous but can be caused by multiple sclerosis and certain drugs as a side effect. It is fortunately uncommon as it is a very unsettling condition.
