Parasite in eye: This is due to the migration through the blood stream (usually from the lung) of a protozoan histoplasmosis, which takes up residence commonly in the retina feeding on and destroying retinal tissue. It is more common in the us midwest. There is treatment to prevent spread but the damage it does is usually permanent.
