Scan Dye Can: Scan dyes used for contrast can cause kidney damage called stress induced nephropathy it is more common in patients who already suffer from some kidney dysfunction like elevated creatinine level but most of time kidney function returns to normal within couple of weeks but in some patients with kidney disease it can be permanent and can lead to end stage kidney failure, and rarely death.
