A member asked:

Could caffeine adversely interact hydrocodone. and if so, chemically why?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Not that I know of: or have read of. There are no known significant interactions between caffeine and hydrocodone. The stimulant effect of caffeine might blunt some of the sedation that can be caused by hydrocodone, and some authorities believe that caffeine actually AUGMENTS the analgesic effects of other painkillers (which is why aspirin-phenacetin-caffeine pills - APC's - were popular).
