Allergic: I wonder what caused this allergic type reaction. Apparently you don't develop a rash or hives with this reaction. Benadryl (diphenhydramine) is more effective than Claritin in relieving these symptoms but it can cause drowsiness. A short course of cortisone type medication can give relief.
