Depends: Are you giving water? Water will cause vomiting. The best thing to give is real name brand ginger ale, just above room temp. Not too cold! start with a teaspoon then 2 and slowly progress- if your child won't take ginger ale use any white soda just be sure it is not diet. If dehydrated and not wetting, no tears, lethargic, seek medical assistance!

10 minute rule: Try to give the child a tsp of gatorade (over 12mos) or pedialyte (under 12 mos) every 10 min for 1 hour. If no vomiting, then increase to 2 tsp. Every 10 min for one hour. If no vomiting, then go to 3 tsp every 10 min for one hour. If tolerating this, then allow to drink freely. If they vomit, hold off on fluids for 30-60 min as the gut is primed to vomit. If not tolerated, go to er.
