Thrush comes fm envt: Thrush germs are around us everywhere & get in on fingers. They like the environment in the mouth because babies feed so often the sugar they need to reproduce is readily available. Antibiotics taken by baby may kill germs in the mouth that would compete for the sugar, allowing the yeast extra food, but the abx doesn't cause the thrush, it just created a vacancy yeast could fill.

Possible: Thrush is candida in the mouth. Babies who have been given antibiotics are more prone to develop thrush. Another way babies can get it is if mom has candida around her nipples and she is breastfeeding. Often it can be asymptomatic in moms.
