Involuntary movement: They may be caused by: essential tremor (an inherited condition) parkinsonism (caused by parkinson's disease or by antipsychotics) tardive dyskinesia (caused by long term exposure to antipsychotics). The presentation and history of treatment are important to diagnose and properly treat those involuntary movements. A neurologist or experienced psychiatrist will be adequate to provide opinion.

Usually these sort of side effects occur only if still taking certain types of meds, not if they have been stopped. However, a few rare cases have been reported to occur years later.
