A member asked:

If someone stands and their blood pressure drops due to dysdysautonomia. do the blood vessels in the brain constrict?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Difficult to know: In a dysautonomic person where there are swings of blood pressure upon changes in body position it is impossible to know which blood vessels in the body may be constricting vs. Dilating. If a person stands whose BP suddenly drops and they become dizzy this usually is a sign that not enough blood is flowing to the brain. Some vessel constriction in the brain may happen as a compensation.
