Hard to know: First, i wonder if it's really bone pain. Stabbing pain often comes from nerves, while bone pain is often more achy. Either way, it could be from normal wear and tear of your body as you age, or from something more serious like cancer. Only a healthcare provider who examines you can make this diagnosis. See someone! good luck.

Unusual: Hard to say what you have. I would start with your pcp to see what is amiss. If no luck there, consider seeing a pain specialist.
