Rest quietly: Welding arc causes an ultraviolet sunburn of the cornea and it does it in a hurry. If you have been exposed, you will feel nothing but in 3-7 hours the cornea will start to break down and be very painful. This will spontaneously heal but takes a day or two. All welders are familiar with this and it is why they wear helmets with uv absorbing screens on them.
