Please tell me what does an "infection control department" in a hospital do ?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Prevent infections: Infection control programs work to decrease infections in health care facilities. This is done in several ways. Infection control programs help to guide housecleaning services in hospitals to keep things as clean as possible. They make sure equipment is sterile. They oversee vaccination of employees and help to ensure that diseases are not spread between staff and patients or between patients.
