A member asked:

Help docs! i'm trying to find out what causes pituitary dwarfism (hypo-somatotropism) ?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Multiple causes: Hyposomatotropism has a variety of causes including genetic controls over production ; secretion of pituitary hormones. This cause is often detected at birth due to other accompanying signs of physical abnormalities which occur in utero. If not genetic then, other causes include trauma, infections, sarcoidosis, tumors, pituitary gland developmental problems, and cranial irradiation. Best to you!
