Please tell me what does arsenic do to your body?

Dr. Marc Goldhagen answered

Specializes in Occupational Medicine

Arsenic interferes with cell metabolism causing cells to turn off and die. Depending on where those cells are and how many are affected determines what symptoms you may experience. Common experienced symptoms to large exposure are nausea, vomiting, bloody urine, cramps and convulsions. Chronic low dose exposure symptoms head ache, confusion, diarrhea, "Mees" lines on fingernails.
