I usually get midcycle mucus discharge but clear, this time i have it brownish like that just before the period. is it normal and why brown ?

Blood tinged mucus will appear brownish because it contains de-oxygenated blood. This frequently occurs around ovulation time (mid-cycle) and is not worrisome.
