Principles: Our principles and philosophies are different from each other. We make decisions and most of us move on to live our own lives and staying in contact with our parents. I decided later in life to take care of my aging parents and stayed with them until the end. I had not regrets. We are raised differently and make decisions differently so as to avoid late regrets. I hope this helps, space limited.

This is a very: Personal decision on your part. Better yourself, but at same time don't neglect mother. There is a happy medium. My dad was a doctor who spoke to his patient ; told them that a life of moderation leads to a life of fulfillment.(eat moderately, drink moderately, sleep moderately , laugh ;r cry moderately).
