If done correctly: ..And taken around the same time every day. The pill is about 99% effective. If you are concerned about being that 1%, (which i would be if he hasn't put a ring on it yet), use a condom in addition to the pill. Not only will it work as backup birth control, but will also protect you against all the std's that are crazy common out there! (hpv, herpes) these are gifts that keep on giving-forever!
