Discuss with MD: Carpal metacarpal arthritis is treatable, treatments vary from antiinflamitory medications and splinting, to joint replacements. Discuss your issues with your doctor, they may refer you to rheumatology or a hand surgeon.

See details: This is one of the most difficult arthritic issues to effectively treat. Local injections can be tried but they will produce only short term relief in most cases. I would try a topical first such as voltaren (diclofenac) gel. Oral nsaids can also be tried. Splinting may help. Surgery has benefit for severe cases but it is not a joint replacement procedure.
