What is a normal vaginal ph?

4.0-4.5: The normal vaginal ph is in the range of 4.0 to 4.5. This is useful in diagnosing vaginal infections, and vaginal atrophy. These conditions, as well as many intravaginal medications and semen tend to raise the ph to a higher range.

Acidic: The vaginal ph is normally acidic, in the range of 3.8-4.5. This ph prevents "bad" bacteria from overgrowing. The "good" bacteria that normally grow inside of the vagina make hydrogen peroxide to keep the "bad" bacteria in check.
