Source not corrected: Generally a recurrent abscess is from the nerve of a tooth dying (died) and until it is attended to the abscess will not go away, only be contained with antibiotics. See a dentist asap.

Abscess go home: A dental abscess can be destructive if the source is not treated or removed. An infected tooth, an infected periodontal pocket , fractured tooth resulting in nerve death and soft tissue damage are possible causes. If the tooth is not removed or root canal tx performed, or the pocket is not cleaned sterilized and corrected, or the fracture not taken care of it will worsen!

Treating infections: Three things are necessary to eradicate an infection. First-remove the source. Two-treat the results caused by the infection. Three-your body must be able to heal itself. Are you being treated by the proper dentist or dental specialist? Or are you self treating or not being treated at all? Not all teeth can be saved. Your own dentist should be able to answer your question. If not, get a 2nd opinon.
