How do a general practitioner, family practice, and internal medicine differ?

Training: General practitioner is another term for family physicians. Internal medicine physicians get limited training in pediatrics and ob/gyn. Their training is more focused on adults in the inpatient setting, although they can practice inpatient (hospital) or outpatient (clinic). Family physicians are training in pediatrics, adults and ob/gyn. They are better suited to outpatient practice.

Family medicine : The difference is in training. Family medicine usually focused more in outpatient. Internal medicine training training focus more on inpatient with some emphasis on outpatient.
