A member asked:

For what reason we cannot do bone marrow transplantation for a patient with hepatitis c virus?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

It is an Infection: Patients have to be totally well and have healthy organs before bone marrow transplant can be done safely. During this procedure the immune system will be compromised; so any infection will get worse and spread leading to a high chance of mortality.
