Eyelid swelling with: Can be indicative of an allergic reaction. Contact allergy can be responsible and treated with topical ophthalmic anti-inflammatory ointment prescribed from your ophthalmologist. Other common causes could include blepharitis (eyelid margin infection) and variations thereof, eczema and infection. Uncommonly, infection of the eyelid itself can cause swelling and be treated with oral antibiotics.
