Please Clarify: One is most likely to get pregnant from sperm deposited in the vagina during the five days prior to ovulation. This is usually just shy of half way through a menstrual cycle. The day after a cycle ends is the first day of the new period. There is no likelihood to get pregnant from sex on the first day of a period. Pregnancy testing will not be valid until fourteen days after insemination.
