Town has tummy virus. hubby better (vomiting th/ fri.). i've had diarrhea for 21 hrs on & off. ok to take immodium? drinking gatorade/ toast/ no fever but some ache. if so, do i stick with brat diet?

Virus: Speak to your family doctor about what to take. On this forum we can't know all your meds and there may be an interaction . The brat diet is fine if you can keep it down . Good luck.

Clr liquid/probiotic: My understanding of best strategy for viral diarrhea is only clear liquids like gatorade or flat soft drink plus a probiotic twice daily until cessation of diarrhea. If other symptoms develop or diarrhea is persistent beyond 48 hrs, i recommend seeking medical evaluation. In my experience, an often effective probiotic is culturelle. I think Imodium (loperamide) could prolong presence of offensive agent.
