Yes: A specific brand of a generic type of medicine can be requested by a patient but there is a chance you can lose the coverage for that medicine by the insurance. Talk to your pharmacist to see if it's not a problem. Your doctor can then specifically put in the prescription that specific medicine. Remember, generics may be covered and brands may not be covered.
