A member asked:

What are causes of infrequent or lack of eye blinking?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Uncommon: The blink rate goes down with concentrated attention such as computer work. No blinking at all is pathologic and will cause corneal opacitification due to dryness. That could be due to lid trauma with scarring or neurologic damage (rare). Blinking is automatic and not really under conscious control for more than a few moments.
