Congenital defect: Dandy Walker is a congenital abnormality affecting the development of a part of the brain called the cerebellum. Patients affected with this condition typically have an enlarged fourth ventricle and absence of the cerebellar vermis. This can lead to problems with coordination and balance. The condition is also associated with buildup of pressure on the brain in some cases.
