What do you do if baby has chicken pox and scratches?

Cover hands: Scratching chicken pox lesions can cause permanent scars; but you obviously can't tell a baby to stop scratching. Cover his or her hands with socks or little mittens or whatever you have around, and try to relieve the itching with emollient creams, or whatever your pediatrician or dermatologist recommends.

Several things: First clip their nails close so they can't scratch very much. You can use calamine lotion to decrease the itching and oatmeal baths.
