Depends on location: Avm's occur in all parts of the body. It depends on which organ is effected. Removing those on the skin is no threat to life. Similarly, an avm in an extremity is rarely a threat. An avm in the intestine can require removing a section of intestine which an be a beggar operation but seldom is a threat to life.
