A member asked:

Is it possible that there ever be a speech delay in asperger's syndrome?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

No language delay: Asperger's (now called autism spectrum disorder) does not involve language/speech delay and this is an important differentiating factor compared with classical autism. That said, the term is not used in the latest diagnostic manual (dsm-5). As above, the new term autistic spectrum disorder includes both of these at this point in dsm-5.
