Nystatin or Mycelex (clotrimazole): Thrush is a fungal infection of the mouth or food tube usually caused by a candida. While the use of probiotics may be helpful, the standard treatment is an oral prescription topical antifungal agent such as Nystatin swish or Mycelex (clotrimazole) troches used 5-6 times a day for 5-7 days.
