I am prescribed klonopin for anxiety. it is not doing anything for me. i've even up'd my dosage through a doc. would ativan or xanax (alprazolam) help better?

Not necessarily.: Although your dr could do a trial on a different benzodiazapine. I don't see any non-medication treatments listed - it is very important. Cognitive behavioral therapy can be quite effective. Psych meds may be indicated. Aim for daily exercise, 8 hours of sleep /night ; good nutrition w 5 servings of veggies ; 4 of fruit per day. Try tai chi, yoga, qi gong ; progressive muscle relaxation.

At hospital, i was given klonopin daily and ativan as needed. My former psych wouldn't allow Xanax (alprazolam) with klonopin. Why the difference?

Any better med for sedation other than benzos? I"ve tried xanax, (alprazolam) klonopin, & ativan. none work great on me but i've never had more than 1mg of each
