Many possible causes: There are many possible causes for difficulty reaching orgasm. One of the most common is depression -- and unfortunately, being on various antidepressant medications can delay or prevent orgasm also. Orgasm can also be affected by problems in the relationship with the sexual partner, and by emotional inhibition. Additional possibilities are medical conditions affecting hormone response.
