Menses: There are a number of causes of irregular menses. One of the first questions is if your periods are normally regular or irregular. Also if you are on birth control. In a young woman with irregular bleeding or an abnormal period we always want to rule out pregnancy. If she is not pregnant then we look into other potential causes. It is important to see your physician to determine cause.
