Common: This is a common physiologic response to flight. Easy recommendations are: - be sure to move in flight (when safe) - even if you just simple foot flexion and extension exercises (check the in flight magazine, there are usually diagrams - drink plenty of fluids - purchase compression stockings if your symptoms are sever - wear shoes that are easy to get on/off at the airport or on the plane.

Common problem: Its common to have swelling during and/or after a flight- mostly related to the air cabin pressure and sitting with legs dependent (or hanging down) for periods of time. Try compression stockings next time.
