I need to know what is autism spectrum?

A big umbrella: This is a collective term that pulls together several separate diagnoses under one supposedly unifying term. Autism, aspergers syndrome and pervasive developmental delay- not otherwise specified, make up the spectrum. It is more a term preferred by academics and bureaucrats that track the funding for their specialized supportive care. I find it rather loosely supported by an actual link.
