How do you treat painful lump in breast?

See your doctor.: The first thing you do is figure out why there is a lump and why it is painful. At 47 you should be having mammograms every year. If you haven't it's past time to start. Your doctor should be able to refer you for biopsy if needed. (based off a thorough history and exam.) once you know what the lump is then you can deal with the pain from it.

It is hard to treat: A condition if you don't know what it is. Please see your physician for evaluation.
