Now!: This history is very concerning for a mutation in a brca gene. You should see a genetic counselor to discuss possible testing for a brca1 or 2 mutation. If this is positive, you may want to consider having your ovaries removed at some point, and your breasts as well. Ask your doctor to refer you for genetic counseling so you can plan how to reduce your risk of breast and ovarian cancer!
