A member asked:

Please tell me if it is advisable for a person with fetal alcohol syndrome to have children?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Depends on variables: Fas is an exposure related disorder that can alter normal tissue (heart, facial features, nervous system) and sometimes alters function (add, personality issues). It cannot be passed in the genes to the persons kids. If the affected parents function well enough to attend to their own and their potential kids needs, why not have kids. You do not have to be perfect to be a loving and perfect parent.
