Hypersensitivity: Hypersensitivity refers to undesirable reactions produced by a normal immune system. There are 5 types of hypersensitivity reactions. Type i reactions are considered allergic or ige-mediated reactions and involve a rapid response, such as seen in asthma or anaphylaxis. The arthus reaction falls under the category of type iii, or immune-complex mediated reactions. This involves igg and neutrophils.
