Sure: But there are many reasons a nipple can be sore. Generally, the breasts are the most tender not just the nipples, but checking a pregnancy test is very reasonable and simple to do. Infections including yeast infections are also common casues. Trauma is also a a cause. A breast exam and possible imaging study like mammogram or ultrasound or ductal evaluation may be required.
