Diarrhea: Diarrhea can be from foods, medications, infections (bacteria, parasites, viruses), functional disorders to name a few etiologies. It is important to know the exact etiology of the diarrhea before treating. Only in some cases of bacterial diarrhea do we treat with antibiotics because it may make the person more ill or cause a chronic carrier state. Best if >3 days of diarrhea to see your doc.
