Tossup: This one is a toss-up. Women are more prone to hemorrhoids because of pregnancy. This causes dilatation of the hemorrhoidal veins. Men who are overweight, drink excessively, or have jobs requiring lots of sitting are prone to hemorrhoids. I've seen the frequency roughly equal in my practice.
